Elements of Pharmaceutical Pricing
The mechanisms underlying the market access of a drug are articulated and have changed a lot in the last ten years. While going toward uniform rules in the European Union, the determination of pricing and reimbursement class still remains managed by each national regulatory agency.
This book aims at providing a general overview on the whole pricing process, starting from the data and the analyses used by pharmaceutical companies to calculate and propose the price, and going on with the main steps of the negotiation process. A specific chapter is dedicated to the ongoing debate about the harmonization process of procedures and, above all, prices, among the EU members.
